Remember last week when I said I feel weird blogging about personal stuff? I’m breaking that rule to share some good news. Some of you may have seen me mention on Twitter that my mother has been ill. Today we found out that her cancer is gone. Her recovery isn’t over, but this is still a moment to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who reached out on the web and offered support and cheers to my family. This moment has been a long time coming, and in my pessimistic moments I wondered if it ever would. It’s nice to imagine getting back to a new normal.
I hope you’re all having an amazing Friday as well, and that everything you have planned for this weekend goes spectacularly well. Let love be contagious.

I am so thrilled to hear this news. It’s been such an arduous process, and it’s so satisfying when someone’s cancer diagnosis actually ends well. When you’re on the caregiving end of things, you often only see the cases that end poorly and with much sadness, which tends to reinforce massive pessimism. I’m so, so happy to hear this news. <3
